What Is Step Quota?

A step quota is DataTrue's usage measurement: each individual action inside an automated test (a click, a page load, a form field interaction) consumes one step from a customer's monthly allowance. Step quota, not seat count, is what determines how much testing coverage a plan supports.

Unlike per-seat software pricing, DataTrue meters by activity, which means adding team members to an account costs nothing extra: what’s metered is how much testing actually runs. A team scanning a handful of critical pages weekly uses far fewer steps than one running full-site Regression Testing on every release.
