What Is Persona-Based Testing?
Persona-based testing is DataTrue's method for detecting PII leakage without using real customer data: fictitious profiles filled with fake names, emails, and payment details are injected into test journeys, and DataTrue monitors whether any of that data is transmitted to third-party tags without proper consent.
Most audit tools either use real customer data to prove a tag is leaking PII (a privacy risk in itself) or infer risk from configuration without proof. Persona-based testing threads that needle: personas behave like real users through Consent Simulation-driven journeys, so if a Meta Pixel or any other tag transmits sensitive fields, DataTrue catches it with zero real data ever at risk.
