What Is DSAR?

A Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) is a formal request, guaranteed under laws like GDPR and CCPA, in which an individual asks a company to disclose, correct, or delete the personal data it holds about them. Companies are typically required to respond within a fixed legal timeframe, often 30 to 45 days.

Responding to a DSAR completely requires actually knowing everywhere a person’s data lives, which is where tag sprawl becomes an operational problem, not just a compliance one.
